Affidavit for Temporary Custodian’s Healthcare Authorization
The Affidavit for Temporary Custodian’s Healthcare Authorization is intended to provide parents/guardians with a way to name a temporary custodian who can serve as a healthcare decision maker for their minor children, on a short term basis if the parent/guardian cannot be reached. Such authority is limited to what is specified in 13 Del. C. § 707(b)(5). This Affidavit may assist parents if, for example they are unavailable due to their own emergency, such as COVID-19 illness, and want to ensure another trusted person can serve in this role. Housing Assistance
To assist Delawareans facing financial hardships because of the COVID-19 health crisis, the Delaware State Housing Authority has created the Delaware Housing Assistance Program (DE HAP). This program provides emergency housing assistance to renters affected by shutdowns, closures, layoffs, reduced work hours or unpaid leave due to the COVID-19 health crisis. Households are eligible for up to $1,500 in assistance, with payments made directly to the property owner or utility company. Applications must be submitted via email to dehap@destatehousing.com. To be eligible for DE HAP, applicants must reside in Delaware and meet certain income limits (see the link above for more details). The applicant must also provide documentation showing that the COVID-19 health crisis has affected their employment or income beginning March 10, 2020 or later. This includes such instances as a layoff, reduced work hours or needing to take unpaid leave due to childcare or other issues. Content Detail
